Sowing Instructions:
- Milan purple is not a storing turnip variety and so is best when pulled young, therefore short rows sown regularly is the best method.
Sowing Time:
- Suitable for early sowing under cloches
- Sow May-July outdoors.
- For Turnip tops - sow in August
Sowing Seed:
- Sow direct in the growing site 2cm (1”) deep in rows 35-40cm (12”) apart.
- Or scatter seeds thinly and evenly on prepared soil and rake in lightly
- As soon as the first rough leaves appear, thin to 8cm (4”) apart and gradually thin to 15cm (6”) apart.
- It is possible to leave until the size of a golf ball and pull alternate plants to maximise the crop.
